Borrowin’ Trouble

The Man-in-the-Moon is in a hurry & a scurry
Said,
“My! how I hate to be late,
Times are hard
Still I must guard.”
Then he looked down below at the show
Soon he spied a happy pair
ln an automobile there,
A’ huggin’ and a kissin’
As tho’ no time to spare,
A’ neckin’ and a’ squeezin’
In the soft balmy air.
The Man-in-the-Moon winked and blinked,
It bothered him I think,
For he tried his face to hide
While on did glide.

Pretty soon he ventured out
To look about.
Then he eyed a joyful pair
Honeymoonin’ in the air,
A’ spoonin’ and a’ cooin’
As tho’ no time to spare,
A’ kissin’ and a’ huggin’
In the soft balmy air.

The Man-in-the-Moon then did declare:
“How I hope such sights my vision don’t impair,
As I’m gettin’ old and wheezy
And just a trifle cheesy, – –
I’ve been all sophistication
Since I’ve occupied this station.
But the present generation
Drives me nearly to despair!”
