My memories I liken to jewels
They are so precious to me
I turn them over and over
And touch them tenderly.
My favorite gem is a picture
Of you as you stand by my side
In that far distant day.
In the sweet month of May
When you became my bride.
Fidelity has been our slogan
It has guided through the years
We’ve had our share of trials
And shed our share of tears.
Once we were young together
But now we’re old and gray
Still never have we reached
The parting of the Way.
For long ago on our wedding day
I placed upon your hand
A priceless little circlet
A simple little band.
Entwined were the initials
That belonged to you and me
With the word so full of meaning
That word Fidelity.
